Time has ceased to exist in any recognizable form of late. The metric I have used to measure it in the past couple years has boiled down to “is the snowblower put away, or is it back out?” Well, it’s back out again! The holidays are over, and I’m feeling grateful for the time we were able to spend with friends and family in the past couple months. It is more than can be said for this time last year, thanks to vaccines and rapid tests. Like many of you, it looks like I’ll be retreating back into some form of quarantine for now, but I’m adjusting accordingly and using this time to get some of the dull administrative tasks out of the way: archiving and organizing Polaroids, updating the ol’ Curriculum Vitae, studying user manuals, upgrading camera storage… To quote an obscure meme I saw once, “It ain’t much but it’s honest work.”
In the meantime, I hope you’re well and safe. Better times are ahead, and I’ll see you when we get there. Maybe you’ll even want some portraits taken on a 4x5 camera?
Here are some photographs from before the snow fell:

Next time, I’ll be able to share some details on what could potentially be the biggest project I have undertaken so far, depending on how you define it.
Recently Featured Works & Shameless Plugs:
Late last year, I had the honor of contributing to the latest issue of Color Tag Magazine which was just released this past week. This edition features artists from all over the world forming image response chains stemming from a single photograph. The images were then responded to with written poetry. A refreshing reminder of how the Internet sometimes enables truly meaningful connections - check it out!
I recently spoke about one of my pieces in a VR version of Aplomb Gallery’s ‘Stronger’ exhibition which will exist in a brick-and-mortar space next week. You can watch the recording of the artist talks here!
My shop is chock-full of magazines, prints, and more waiting to be whisked away by your hard-earned money. Or by a barter of some kind. Let’s talk.
And finally, if you know someone that might be interested in this newsletter, please send it their way!
